Design, manufacture, and installation of 100 columbariums
In the Parish of San Nicolás in Pamplona
The closure doors of these tombs—columbaria—were designed and installed to remain ajar. The aim was to transform these simple wooden boxes—whose sole material function is to safeguard the ashes of the deceased—into an opportunity for the expression of faith in the resurrection of the body. The design of the security mechanism goes completely unnoticed, blending seamlessly into the shadows cast by the repetition of one hundred inclined planes.
